Question: I was in a car accident and can’t stop worrying. Please offer advice.?
I was coming home from the gym on a really hot day and I hit a telephone pole. I hadn’t had much to drink or eat that day except for a cup of coffee, and a bowl of cereal. It was a long straight road and I believe I experienced what is called “highway hypnosis”. I was tired and my lazy eye had wandered and I believe this obstructed my vision, also contributing to the accident. No one was hurt and I walked away with only a bruise on my shoulder, but I feel so guilty that I got into the accident and that the car was totaled. Now I have a hard time sleeping and I wake up worried, thinking about the crash and how I could have avoided it. Now I am scared to drive and I don’t want it to happen again. I just can’t understand how I could have hit a telephone pole at 2 p.m. on a sunny day, on a quiet road. My friends drink and drive, and drive carelessly, but they don’t get into accidents. I follow the rules and destroy a car and a telephone poll. Any help would be greatly appreciate

Your blood sugar was probably very low. That can mimic the symptoms of a stroke. Don’t beat yourself up for it. Maybe a couple of sessions with a therapist or counselor would help. Also you should get a complete physical check-up.
