Question: does “Hypnosis” usually cause person to be “Retraumitised” again in their head when reliving past trauma?
how this is good?

i understand that “Age Regression” is often required or done in hypnosis..is the basic reason for them to kind of go into a dream again about the past..actually FEEL like they are reliving it again?

how this is done by the hypnotist or therapist and , again, WHY and how this good to “Retraumitise” them again, like they are reliving their traumatic past?

how, common this is done and where most often practiced..”Hypnotherapy”?

please explain
which emotions too are most often “REFELT” and how this time are they suppose to handle these feelings again??

does the therepast..ask them to concentrate and control themselves and “Rechannel” these feelings? or how this time would be different than before?

how long they most often times are this way again?

I need to clarify a point. A hypnotist is not a hypnotherapist. Both have the skill to help you into a trance. However, the hypnotist is usually doing it for entertainment, where as the hypnotherapist is using the trance to aid a therapeutic process. When I trained as a hypnotherapist, it was 18 month course. Many hypnotists will take a weekend course. Most of the study for a hypnotherapist is to do with the psychology and therapeutic processes needed to help a person gain control of their life. A hypnotist should never try to be a therapist without the fuller training. I personally did an Honours degree in psychology with counselling and clinical psychology as well. It has prove to be vital.

As to “Age Regression” as a method of resolving a trauma. Yes it is often used. It can also be called a memory search or a trauma run. The principle behind such a tool is to use imagery to reduce the effect of the original trauma. It works very well, I have used it many times. It works because of the way the mind stores a trauma. It is usually just below conscious access. Now if you do not want to use this method, there are other methods now available. NLP and EFT / TFT offer effective help, that is why I now use them too.

When using a memory search there can be a problem with ‘re-stimulation’ of the trauma. So a therapist is trained to do what is call ‘Double disassociate’ I.E. the client is viewing the whole memory as if it were someone else and even then filtered. the client is also constantly self monitoring anxiety levels to withdraw if need be. Just because a person is hypnotised it does not mean they cannot monitor their own safety. Indeed it is a valuable feature of hypnotherapy.
